Free Group Ride
Newport-May Valley-164th Loop
Event has already happened.
This ride starts at Newport hill P&R, then heads out to May Valley road, Issaquah-Holbart then stop at Issaquah Coffee Company at around mile 16 mark for a coffee/food break. From there we will finish the ride by riding up Newport and climbing up 164th then descend back down to Newcastle to finish the ride.
The ride will be at social moderate pace, which means we will ride 14 to 16 MPH on the flat and regroup as necessary so the group can stay together. Most of the climb is on the second half of the ride after the coffee break, riders can climb at their own pace and we'll regroup at top of the hills. 164th is the steepest of the climb and tops out at around 8%.
If the ride is canceled due to weather and hazardous conditions, it will be posted here in the comment section 2 hours prior to the start time and ride leader will not be waiting at the start. Bring fenders with long mudflaps if there is chance of rain/wet ground; otherwise you'll be asked to ride in the back.
Please arrive 15 minutes before the ride to sign in and listen to safety briefing. We'll roll out at 10:30AM.
There is no bathroom at the start, so plan accordingly.
