Liquid Lunch Crosses the Bay

With so much water all around us, there's no excuse for not taking in a water view while dining.  Hence, Liquid Lunch.  And with a nice weekend forecast for this mid-October Saturday, let's double down.  We won't just look at the water, we'll ride on it- aboard a boat.  Join me at Hogan Park at Russell Road Saturday morning, and we'll ride north up the Duwamish Valley.  We'll head up through South Park, then up Harbor Avenue to Marination Ma Kai for lunch with a Hawaiian-Korean flair.  At noon, we'll load up on the King County Water Taxi ($5.75 fare, no charge for bikes), and cross Elliott Bay to the Seattle Waterfront.  A ride down the waterfront will take us back over Harbor Island, and we'll head back south to Kent on a mixture of flat streets and paved trail.  Anyone who wants to skip the ferry ride can opt to head back south on Harbor Avenue, and we can join back up at Harbor Island.  We'll put in about 50 miles riding; the 52 miles of the RWGPS route include a couple of miles of Water Taxi route!

This will be a Moderate ride, and steady rain will cancel.  If I post a weather cancellation more than two hours prior to ride start, I will not be at the start line.  Please make sure that you have a helmet, a serviceable bike, hydration, and clothing appropriate to conditions.  Bring money for lunch and the Water Taxi fare- or pack along a snack and ride back south as outlined above.  I encourage you to register online; it streamlines the ride start, and makes it a little easier to plan for group size.  There is an 8:30 AM Cascade ride meeting at Hogan Park as well, so make sure you find your intended group.
