Seattle Pastry Ride: Volunteer Park /Seward Park Loop
Ride Contact
Event has already happened.
It's fall, so that means it's time to ride for pastries. Join us for local rides to seek out local bakeries in the Seattle area. This week we will head out from Volunteer Park and do a loop ride to Seward Park and back. There is plenty of parking in neighborhood streets or in park. We will meet in front of Seattle Asian Art Museum. Just before the end of the ride we will stop at Volunteer Park Cafe for some tasty treats or lunch. Bring water bottles and money for food purchases. Since this Cafe is at end of ride - you can feel free to relax and take your time at this charming cafe or you can get your cookie and run :)
Start Time & Registration: All riders must be checked in and have their bikes ready to ride by 9:20 AM. We'll briefly discuss Cascade rules for riding SMART before departing. To save time at the start please register for the ride using the registration button above (not mandatory). You must have a Cascade account to see the button and register. Create an account here. You do not have to cancel if you do not come.
Meeting Place: In front of Seattle Asian Art Museum in Volunteer Park.
Pace: Please note, we will ride within the posted pace on the flats with an equivalent effort up hills (all riders are welcome, including riders that are not members of CBC). If you plan on riding significantly faster or slower than the posted pace, please make sure to download or print out the posted route so you may continue the ride on your own.
Regroup/Mechanicals: This will be a social ride with regroups at the tops of bigger hills and at all critical turns along the way. We'll also stop for photos at nice viewpoints along the ride. Please come prepared with the necessary equipment to take care of your own flats or other mechanical problems (the group will not stop for extended mechanical issues). Pl.ease download the route or print out the cue sheet from the route link below in case you become separated from the group.
Rest Stops: There are restrooms at Seward Park at about mile 11
Requirements: As is required with all Cascade rides, please ensure you wear a helmet. Come prepared with gear that is comfortable and appropriate for the distance/elevation/weather conditions.
