Free Group Ride
Snoqualmie Pass with Keechelus Lake Loop
Ride Contact
Event has already happened.
Heading out for some gravel fun! Departing from exit 38 off of I-90 we will be heading up to the top of Snoqualmie Pass, having a coffee break (Red Mountain Coffee) before doing a loop on forest roads, and then looping back to exit 38 via the IronHorse Trail.
IMPORTANT (READ CAREFULLY) It's over 60 miles round trip, a lot of which is on gravel. This is a difficult ride. Bring plenty of water and plenty of food as there are no rest stops after Red Mountain Coffee. There is a long dark cold tunnel on the route and a bike light is absolutely essential. It is a good idea to bring a backup light and a light jacket for the tunnel if you get cold easily. At the start of the ride we will have everyone pair up with someone so that if there is a mechanical issue people will have someone who sticks with them until it is resolved so that the entire group is not waiting behind. The reason for this is that the ride is relatively remote so we don't want people to be left alone on the trail if they have an issue.
Bring a bike with at least 700x28 tires--a hybrid, cross-bike, or mountain bike all will work. This ride will be posted as Brisk, because it will be a Brisk "effort," which translates roughly to 10-12 mph depending on varied terrain.
Given the remoteness of this ride we will cancel based on bad weather and/or poor air quality.
Parking: We will meet in the Deception Crags & Mt Washington trailhead off of exit 38 which requires a Discover Pass. One may be able to get around this by parking on the street.
