Event has already happened.
Join us for a 20.3 mile, 1330' elevation gain as we bike through the neighborhoods of Montlake, Capitol Hill, Madrona, Leschi, Mt. Baker, Columbia City and Rainier Vista. Along the way, we will visit Interlaken Park (twice), Leschi Park, and Lake Washington Blvd., climb the 17th steepest street in the city (on South Dakota St.in Mt. Baker), have an optional hill climb on the 9th steepest street in the city (East Ward in Capitol Hill), and bike some hidden trails in Madrona. There will be a short section of cobblestone street and one short dirt trail. If time allows, we may have the opportunity to add one or two more optional hills for the climbing enthusiasts. Those not wishing to do the optional hills will get short rest breaks while the climbs are being done. We will re-group on the tops of all major hills. Afterwards, we'll head to the Nickerson Street Saloon for food, drinks and socializing for those interested.
Please make sure to arrive at least 15-20 minutes before the start time to get your bike set up, sign the waiver, and to listen to the safety talk.
The ride leaders will not be at the ride start should conditions be as noted in “Showers Cancels” above. Also note that the ride may be cancelled because of poor air quality. The ride leader will announce the cancellation in the comments section below at least 2 hours prior to the ride start and will monitor my phone and/or email listed in the contact information. If you have questions about the weather or air quality, please call (or email) before you leave for the ride.
