Join us for the fun side of Zoo Hill. We will meet up at Soundview Playfield in Ballard at 8:45 am for a pre ride brief and roll at 9:00 AM. Bring coffee money for a mid ride snack. Soundview Playfield has some parking, restrooms, and water.
This ride will take us across the 520 bridge and into Newport where we climb Coal Creek Parkway. The real climb begins on Forest Drive SE. We will climb 1,000 feet in 3.5 miles. I plan to climb at 8-10 mph. This is not a steep climb, just longer than most. We will regroup at each turn and review safety before descending.
Our goal will be to stay together, regrouping as needed at the top of longer climbs. We'll observe a 15 mph limit when on multi-use trails. Fenders are appreciated if the roads are wet. Steady rain cancels. If needed a I will post a cancellation notice in the Comments block below at least two hours prior and not go to the start.
