Event has already happened.
Cycle through forests and farms of south King County. Plan to depart from the parking lot at Lake Wilderness Lodge promptly at 10:00 am. We will ride through the Rock Creek Natural Area to Ravensdale Park (mile 6). Then out through Cumberland to our second rest stop at Nolte State Park (mile 16) and a peaceful view of Deep Lake. We leave the forest to cross the Enumclaw plateau and a smooth descent into the Green River Valley. There is an optional rest stop at Flaming Geyser State Park, then a mile climb up 218th to the Black Diamond Bakery for lunch. After lunch, it's mostly flat for 6 miles back to Lake Wilderness.
Start: Arrive at the start by 9:45 am to hear the Route update and SMART talk and depart at 10:00 am.
Restrooms: At the start in the Lodge, Ravensdale Park (mile 6), Nolte State Park (mile 16), optional Flaming Geyser State Park (mile 30) and the Lunch stop in Black Diamond (mile 36).

RSVP: Click on the red "Register Now" button under the title above, then check the box for "Waiver Signature" and fill in the contact information. This will improve legibility and expedite sign-up at the start. On-line RSVP requires a Cascade Bicycle Club account, which is easy to set up, but if you don't want one, come anyway and sign the hard-copy "Safety Affirmation and Liability Release" at the start.
Cancellation: If weather conditions meet the "Showers cancel" criteria, a Ride Canceled note will be posted in the Comments below, at least 2 hours prior and Ride Leader will not be at the start. If the weather looks questionable, please check here before leaving for the ride.
Note: The Google Maps address for Lake Wilderness Lodge is 22500 SE 248th St, Maple Valley but that will put you at the Lake Wilderness Arboretum. Take Gaffney Rd 1/4 mile up to the Lodge parking lot and the Ride Start will be to the right.
What to Know Before You Go
- Advance registration required. Cancel if unable to attend, to open space for others.
- Must be present at safety briefing to participate.
- Helmets required.
- Riders under 18 years old require parental consent & approval from the Ride Leader.
