Free Group Ride
Bike to... Summer Sounds at Skansie Outdoor Concert
Ride Contact
Event has already happened.
Every Tuesday during the summer, Gig Harbor's waterfront Skansie park comes alive with a free outdoor concert. June 26th will be first one for 2018 and Nate Botsford will be performing. Let's meet up and go for a quick spin, mostly on Cushman Trail, and end at the park for the concert. The concert is from 6:30 to 8. The park is just a bit below our starting location in St. Nicholas Catholic School's parking lot (off of Edwards, above the church). If you are coming by car, you have permission to park there. If you are planning to stay for the concert, you may want to bring a blanket to sit on and it would be a good idea to bring a bike lock. You are allowed to place chairs in the park before the concert starts, so you can do that before the ride if you want. Some of the area's restaurants deliver to the concert or you may want to bring your own food.
We'll meet at 4:45pm for a short safety talk and introductions. Please register for the ride by clicking on the red "Register Now" button at the top. You do not need to be a Cascade member to register, you merely need to create a free account. There is no need to unregister if you can not make it. Newcomers are welcome! Please read our newcomer information (linked above) and feel free to comment below or contact me if you have any questions.
Helmets are required for all participants on Cascade Free Group rides. Some other good things to have: a charged cell phone, a credit card, ID, water and snacks, supplies to fix a flat (spare tube, pump, tire levers) fenders on your bike if roads are wet, front and back lights and the aforementioned bike lock, chairs and/or blanket and food for the concert.
Cancellation Policy: Steady rain cancels. If the ride is cancelled, the cancellation will be posted in the comments section below before 2pm and ride leader will not be at the start.
