Free Group Ride
Lake Sammamish Loop (Note--Includes East Lake Sammamish Trail)
Ride Contact
Event has already happened.
Please join us for a ride around Lake Sammamish! This is an easy route, with little elevation gain, and a great way to get those legs moving!
Beginning riders are extremely welcome! However, you should be prepared to maintain a Steady pace: 12-14 mph on level ground, and you should be prepared to ride about 23 miles in total on mostly flat terrain. If you get separated from the group, you may need to find your way back alone, so you should know how to read a cue sheet, or have the route loaded on a bike computer or mobile phone.
Rest stops: We'll regroup occasionally. There is a restroom at the start, but there is no place to fill water bottles (it’s a portable restroom), so please do that before coming to the start.
Weather: Showers will result in a cancellation, and the ride leader will post this information here at least two hours before the start of the ride. If showers start after that, we could still cancel at the start as well.
Wet roads: Please come with long fenders, including a buddy flap, if the roads are wet. Without them, you will be asked to ride in the back of the group.
Trails: We'll be on the East Lake Sammamish Trail for the ride back up from Issaquah to Redmond, so expect some hard-packed gravel for the unpaved section of the trail. Wider tires are recommended. While this isn't a gravel ride, if you're not comfortable riding on hard-packed gravel for 3-4 miles, please see whether other rides might be of more interest.
Mechanical issues: You should also be prepared to fix a flat tire, with tools, tubes and the ability to change the tire yourself. The group will generally not stop for repairs.
Registration: Please sign the electronic waiver above. This saves time at the start of the ride. Use the "Register Now" button, which will only be available after you log in. I will print the eWaiver at around 4pm, so please sign it before then.
Note: Please show up to the ride start at least 20 minutes early, so we can get through the safety briefing before starting the ride promptly at 5:30pm.
