Riding a Figure Eight Up and Down the Valley

I hope you can join me this Thursday for a lovely social bike ride up and down the Auburn, Kent and Renton Valley.  We will begin our ride from the Outlet Mall in Auburn and ride north on the Interurban Trail for about 5 miles.  When we reach Kent we will turn onto low traffic Frager Road which presents us with some beautiful views of farmland, Mt. Rainier (if it is out) and the Green River with its abundance of ducks, geese, cranes and possibly a nesting pair of bald eagles.  Near 212th we pick up the Green River Trail and continue on towards Renton.  As we arrive in Renton we will skirt around the Tukwila Family Fun Center and head back south.  Our coffee and pastry stop awaits us in Kent where we will stop for 20 minutes at Panera's.  Refreshed and refueled we will continue south along the beautiful Green Valley Road which will take us back to Auburn.

Fenders with buddy flap strongly encouraged if roads are wet or rain is in the forecast.  

Restroom inside Wal-Mart at the start, and at mile 11.7 at Three Friends Fishing Hole and mile 22.7 at our rest stop at Panera's.

New riders are welcome, but please review link below. Riders should be able to maintain the pace and know how to change a flat tire (and carry the equipment to do so).

Come prepared to fix flats and have a plan for dealing with mechanical issues. Generally the group will not wait for flats/mechanical issues so make sure you know the route or have printed a CUE sheet.

Please register for the ride by clicking on the red Register Now button at the top of this page, click the waiver release box, complete the Emergency Contact Number, and click on Save.  By doing this you will save time at the ride start. If you are unable to attend you do not need to "un-register."
