Ride Contact
Event has already happened.
PIE RIDE: Leisurely Urbane Matthewsbeach Pedalers: We will ride north on the Burke-Gilman Trail to the North Shore Senior Center (NSSC) in Bothell, just beyond Blyth Park near Bothell. Then take a pie break with ice cream or whip cream at NSSC for about 30 to 60 minutes, use the restrooms if needed and return to Matthews Beach. The terrain is flat. The company is great and the pace is steady at 12 to 14 mph. Helmets and a functioning bicycle are required. No cue sheets provided. Free parking at Matthews Beach parking lot. Arrive early to beat the sea gulls for a good parking spot.
Route: Come, have fun, decorate your bike if you like and enjoy this social bike ride along the Burke Gilman Trail. You can also look at the colorful holiday lights on the way back. We will see decorated homes along the Lake Washington waterfront which are not very accessible by vehicles.
Lights: This is not an after dark ride; you don't need a headlight or a tail light, but this is about the shortest day of the year ride so if you anticipate some dark riding come equipped.
Fenders: If the roads are wet, please come equipped with fenders long enough to keep the person riding behind you dry.
Ride start: Please arrive 15 minutes before the start of the ride to sign the liability waiver and hear the safety briefing. Water and restrooms are available. No cue sheets will be provided and be prepared if you have a mechanical problem e.g. flat tire.
Register - Please sign an e-waiver by clicking on the “Register Now” button at the top of this page (right below the ride title) and enter your information. If you cannot make the ride, you do not need to unregister.
Weather cancellation: - Showers or more severe weather will cancel the ride. Ride cancellation will be announced in the comments section at least two hours before start time and the ride leader(s) will not be at the start.
