Ramen Rides: Santouka Bellevue
Event has already happened.
It's winter. It's cold outside. A bowl of ramen in a rich broth is one of the best things to stave off that chill. Traditionally enjoyed in Sapporo to stave off the harsh winter weather, we borrow this concept and mix it with our cycling obession.
Ramen Rides visits ramen restaurants around the Greater Puget Sound area, seeking both miles and well-earned calories. Today's ride visits Santouka in Bellevue. This location is a continuation of the founder's dream "to make delicious ramen".
The route begins from Bellevue Downtown Park (south parking lot) and loops around the classic Lake Washington Loop and the newly opened 520 trail, extending to just under 70 miles with a modest 3200 ft of climbing over vigorous, rolling hills. However, there are options to cut the route short at either I-90 or 520. Santouka is conveniently located close to the starting location and I encourage everyone to try ramen.
Every rider is expected to sustain and complete the route at the advertised pace without pacelining/drafting. If you become slower towards the end of the ride or ride faster than what we offer, it will be self-guided. Please bring a cue sheet and/or upload the route information onto your GPS device. Ride with GPS link will be provided by Wednesday prior to the ride date in the comment section below. Every rider is also expected to have tubes and tools and to be able to fix a flat and other minor mechanicals.
Even though it's not a requirement, we would appreciate you register/sign e-waiver for the ride here (register button right below the ride title) so that we can better plan to have appropriate number of Ride Leaders available.
In addition to steady rain, any other hazardous conditions will cancel a ride. If a ride is cancelled due to weather and hazardous conditions, it will be posted here in the comment section 2 hours prior to the start time and ride leaders will not be waiting at the start.
Note: 9am is a roll out time. Please come at least 15 min before the start time to sign a waiver and listen to the safety and route briefing.
