TREATS: Renton - Ravensdale - Maple Valley

Enjoy scenic river views as we gradually ascend the Cedar River Trail to Maxwell Rd.  Then meander through the forest on bucolic country roads.  After a brief stop at Lake Francis Park, there will be an exhilarating descent to the Cedar River and a climb up to Ravensdale.  We have some rollers and curves through the Rock Creek Natural Area before the Lunch stop at Starbucks or Subway in Maple Valley.  After lunch, we ride down Witte Rd back to the Cedar River Trail.  On the way back there is a short patch of grass and a gravel path to put us up on Maple Valley Highway so we can turn right onto Jones Road.  We'll regroup before and at the end of Jones Road.  There are hills on this ride but we will climb at our own pace, regrouping at the top.

Start: Arrive at the start by 9:40 am to hear the Route update and SMART talk.  We plan to depart at 10:00 am sharp.

Restrooms: At the start at the Renton Community Center, Lake Francis Park (mile 16), Ravensdale Park (mile 23)  and the Lunch stop in Maple Valley (mile 29).

RSVP:  Click on the red "Register Now" button under the ride title above, then check the box for "Waiver Signature" and fill in the contact information. This will improve legibility and expedite the sign-up at the start.  On-line RSVP requires a Cascade Bicycle Club account, which is easy to set up, but if you don't want one, come anyway and sign the hard-copy "Safety Affirmation and Liability Release" at the start. 

Cancellation: If weather conditions meet the "Showers cancel" criterion, a Ride Canceled note will be posted in the Comments below, at least 2 hours prior and Ride Leader will not be at the start.  If the weather looks questionable, please check here before leaving for the ride.
