South Lake Washington Loop

We’ll start at the Mercer Island Park & Ride (SE corner of upper lot) and head counter-clockwise around south Lake Washington and enjoy the fall scenery along the lake. Optional social gatherings are available before and after the rides to meet and connect with Ride Leaders and fellow riders. We’ll have a brief, mid-ride rest stop in an effort to retain body heat.

Please be ready to ride by 9:15 AM so we can do the safety briefing and get on the road.  Bring what you need to handle flats, and have a phone and a plan for rescue if your bike fails.  If roads are wet, rooster tails from bare tires are a safety issue for other riders.  Fenders with long mudflaps show that you care.

Restrooms and Pre-Ride Coffee: Available at Tully's Coffee, 7810 SE 27th St, Mercer Island (an easy ride, one block south of the starting point).

Optional Post-Ride Gathering: The Islander Restaurant, 2441 76th Ave SE, Mercer Island

Registration: Please RSVP by clicking on the red "Register Now" button under the ride title above, then checking the box for "Waiver Signature" and filling in the contact information.  This will save us time at the start.  Note that the on-line RSVP requires a Cascade Bicycle Club account, which is easy to set up, but if you don't want one of those, please come anyway and sign the hard-copy attendance/hold harmless sheet.

Regroup Policy: We will regroup at safe places whenever the Sweep is beyond sight distance from the Lead, primarily at the top of hills, at critical turns or past intersections. If a safe regroup point isn’t available, we will “soft pedal” (ride well below pace) to allow the split group to reconnect and resume the posted pace.

Cancellation Policy: If weather conditions meet the "Showers cancel" criterion, I will post a ride-cancelled note in Comments, below, at least 2 hours prior and not go to the start.  Ice or snow also cancel.  Please check here before leaving for the ride.
