Renton-Mercer Island-Madison Park Coffee Ride

This is a social but challenging ride with experienced ride leaders to grow your confidence with group riding. It is free and open to everyone. The route consists of trails and bike-friendly streets with gradual climbs so you can practice shifting gears. Everyone will ride the hills at their own pace and we always regroup at the top and before any turns so you need not be concerned about being left behind.

We will start and finish at Burnett Linear Park in Downtown Renton located along Burnett Ave S between S. 4th and S 5th St. The route takes us along Kennydale via Lake Washington Blvd  N to Mercer Island, we will do a 10-mile loop around the island, then cross the I-90 bridge and onto Starbuck’s at Madison Park (mile 26) for a coffee and pastry break.  We’ll return along Lake Washington Blvd. S. to Seward Park and Rainier Ave S. No restroom at start location, the first restroom stop is at mile 2.5 Coulon Park.

You should dress appropriately for the weather and all you need is a working bike and a helmet. Please arrive 20 minutes before the published start time to ready your bike, check in and participate in the safety and ride briefing. We will go over hand signals and what we say during the ride to keep ourselves safe.

Register - Please sign an e-waiver by clicking on the “Register Now” button at the top of the ride listing on the Cascade Calendar (right below the ride title) and enter your information. If you cannot make the ride, you do not need to unregister. This signup is separate from the Meetup RSVP and will help the Ride Leaders at the start.

Weather - Showers or more severe weather will cancel the ride.  Ride cancellation will be announced below and in the comments section of the Cascade calendar entry at least two hours before start time and the ride leaders will not be at the start.
