Event has already happened.
This enjoyable scenic country ride provides great conditioning and is a favorite of participants, with its mix of flats and hills. And much of the route is in the shade. We ride on the Burke-Gilman trail, and good roads, through Woodinville, Monroe and Sultan and return on an alternate route. See the attached pictures on the link below.
You will need to bring two full water bottles and we can refill one bottle at the Sultan Bakery. Bring a snack to eat while riding. Bathrooms available at Log Boom Park, and we will make a bathroom stop at Lewis Street Park in Monroe on the Skykomish River at approximately 20 miles distance, and at the half way point (about 30 miles) where we will stop at the Sultan Bakery for a snack and conversation.
Climb the hills at your own pace and we will regroup at the top. The pace on level pavement is 16-18 mph with no wind, slower up hills, and faster down hills. For those that elect to go at a slower pace the downloadable gps link (Brierwood Log Boom-Sultan Loop) of the route map and printable cue sheet (Cue sheet LB Sultan Loop) allow you to ride independently.
Those who want a more demanding ride can join me at 830 AM in Brierwood Park in the town of Brier, which will add approximately 600 feet in elevation gain and approximately 9 miles in distance. Brierwood Park 2637 Elm Dr, Brier, WA 98036, USA.
Please register online for this ride, which will sign you in as well on the signup sheet. We will have the usual brief introduction and safety briefing prior to the ride, and then we will ride out. Arrive early so that your bike is ready to ride, and we can finish the safety discussion and start riding at the listed time leaving Log Boom Park at 9 AM .
As with all Cascade Bicycle Club rides be prepared to fix your own flats, wear a well-fitting helmet, and no ear buds.
In the event of steady rain I will not be coming to Logboom Park, or Brierwood Park and will post a cancellation notice in the Comments section 2 hours prior to the ride start.
