FRUMPS: Enatai/Cedar River Road/Issaquah Ride
Event has already happened.
This varient of the Enatai/May Valley/Issaquah ride loops southeast of May Valley before connecting with the Issaquah/Hobart Road. We will make a refreshment stop in Gilman Village before climbing Newport Way to Factoria and back to the ride's start. This is a mix of suburban and rural countryside with a particularly scenic stretch along the Cedar River Road. The ride has some hills, but none of them are killers. There are sections of the ride that are busy and lack shoulders, but these sections are lightly traveled.
I will be riding at a real Steady pace meaning no more that 14 mph on the flats. I plan to keep us all together, including regrouping at the tops of hills. Because of the varied riding conditions, I strongly recommend that participants have some experience riding with groups. If you are new to group riding, please review the Cascade newcomer info. Have extra tubes plus the skills to change your own flat and tackle minor mechanical problems.
We will meet at the Enatai Beach Park parking lot which is located above the beach and under I 90. Restrooms are available at the start of the ride. We will stop at Newport Hills Park for a rest stop at about 4 miles into the ride.
Please arrive at least 20 minutes prior to the start to prepare your bike, listen to the ride briefing and SMART talk. I will roll promptly at 9:30 AM.
In the event of a weather cancellation, a notice will be posted in the comments section of this page at least two hours before the ride. The ride leader will not be at the ride start location.
Cue sheets will not be provided, please print one if desired.
Please pre-sign the waiver by clicking on the red Register Now button at the top, filling in the requested information, and clicking on Save. Online waiver will close two hours before the start, after that time you will need to legibly sign the waiver at the start location.
