Bike & Brunch - 2017 Tour De Brunch (Stage 4)

Welcome to Tacoma...home of the Rainiers, the T-Dome and some of the best riding that the South Sound has to offer. We know that we're a little different from Seattle...and we are ready to celebrate it. Who needs Alki Beach when you have Ruston Way with it's beautiful views, amazing pastries and coffee shops, and some great pubs? Who needs West Seattle when you have Gig Harbor and it's intense climbs? Who needs Pioneer Square when you can take in that overwhelming Tacoma Aroma? With this in mind, we came up with the monthly Bike & Brunch Series...which strung together over the course of the season, will become the 2017 Tour De Brunch. Imagine a once-a-month ride, that departs from a different fantastic Brunch location each month. From DOA to the Spar...you'll experience the very best Brunch locations that the South Sound has to offer. And we'll see it all on two wheels. The Bike & Brunch rides will be anywhere from 30 to 60 miles (depending on where we're at in the season), and will likely include trips across the bridge into Gig Harbor, WA. Depending on the time of the year, the rides can include several hills with elevation coming close to 5000 feet. For Stage 4 of this instant classic, we're heading out from the Marketplace Grill in Gig Harbor, a bike-friendly Brunch location located right on the water in GH. The route will take us along the harbor waterfront (during minimal traffic), up the Dana Point Climb, into Port Orchard with an attack up the infamous Banner Climb. Afterwards, we'll drop south of SR16 for an epic Time Trial-like segment down Bethel Burney Rd. Finally, we'll take in a view of the Purdy Spit, then a quick roll through Canterwood, and the city of Gig Harbor and...well...you get the point. It will be AWESOME! There are bathrooms the start of the route, and several opportunities throughout. All are welcome...and as these rides grow, we will be able to offer several paces.
