Event has already happened.
Join us for a 32.6 mile, 1700' elevation gain ride as we ride to West Seattle. On the way there, we will stop by the fountain in Seattle Center, go along the Seattle waterfront, visit the Salmon Bone Bridge, do a tough hill climb to High Point (the highest spot in the city of Seattle at 520'), bike along a waterfront path in Lincoln Park, visit Alki, and go through Schmitz Park (one of two parks in Seattle with old growth forest). On the way back, we will do a more gradual climb over West Seattle, will again bike by the Seattle waterfront and go through Myrtle-Edwards Park. The pace will be brisk on the flats except when in parks where the speed limit is 15 mph. The pace on the hills will be moderate with re-groups at the top of the hills. There will be at least one optional steep hill climb for those who are looking for an extra challenge. There are a couple of dirt paths that we will be biking on and we will have one short stair climb. Afterwards, we'll head to the Nickerson Street Saloon for food, drinks and socializing for those interested.
Please arrive at least 15-20 minutes before the start time to get your bike set up, sign the waiver, and to listen to the safety talk.
I will not be at the ride start should conditions be as noted in “Showers Cancels” above. I will announce the cancellation in the comments section below at least 2 hours prior to the ride start and will monitor my phone and/or email listed in the contact information. If you have questions about the weather, please call (or email) before you leave for the ride.
