Free Group Ride
Seven Hills of Kirkland PLUS - from Log Boom Park
Event has already happened.
This is a variation of the Seven Hills of Kirkland, classic route, with a start in Log Boom Park instead of Kirkland. We will go up the seven hills, including: Norway, King's Gate, Winery, Rose, Market, Juanita, and finally Holmes Point. This route includes a bonus 5 mile steady climb after we return to Log Boom, so you can eliminate that and cut the ride down to the original 40 miles if you want.
Route and Cue sheet are available at the Ride with GPS link below and attachment. Log Boom Park is located on the northen end of Lake Washington and easily found by your GPS. There are rest rooms at the start.
Please arrive at least 15 minutes before the published start time to check your bike, check in and participate in the safety and ride briefing. We will go over hand signals and what we say during the ride to keep ourselves safe.
REGISTRATION: Please click on the bright red “Register Now” button above to sign up for the ride - it saves time at the start and makes sure I can read your emergency number, just in case. You have to create an account, but you don't have to become a member or pay.
Food/Lunch: This week I have again made the Starbucks at mile 23 an official stop. We also have an optional stop at mile 17 (the 132nd Street park) for bathrooms, if needed. After the ride, if there is time, I will be going to the Honey Bear Bakery at Lake Forest Park Towne Center. It is just 2 miles down the road at 17171 Bothell Way NE. (It is where Third Place Books is located). All riders are welcome to join me. (They have a mean BLTA sandwich; oh yea there are some pastries too!
Steady rain cancels the ride. If that happens, it will be announced in the comments section below at least two hours before start time and the Ride Leader will not be at the start.
