Free Group Ride
Training series for STP Log Boom Park-Monroe Lewis Street Park Loop
Ride Contact
Event has already happened.
Ride one of the most scenic routes in the Puget Sound area. The route is a balanced mix of flat and some hilly terrain on excellent pavement. Featured are the Hollywood Hill in Woodinville, the Woodinville-Duvall Road, West Snoqualmie Valley Road, Tualco/Lake Crescent Road, High Bridge Road, Fales Road, Paradise Lake/Bostian Road and 240th street
Plan to arrive at Log Boom Park parking lot by 9:00AM so that you can make your ride preparations, hear the CBC safety briefing, and sign the liability wavier (unless you registered online via the free daily ride link). We should be riding at 9 15AM. We will begin riding on the Burk Gillman Trail at the low end of brisk (16 mph), and as we warm up our average speed will increase to 18 mph on the trail. We will go up hills at our own individual pace and regroup at the top.
What to wear: the weather is forecast to be cool in the morning. I plan to wear tights, a long sleeve jersey, and the CBC ride leader jersey and gloves. I recommend using a side mirror so that you can see behind you.
Be prepared to fix your own flats and make your own adjustments. Bring at least one bottle of water. Bathrooms are available at Log Boom Park and Lewis Street Park. Bring your ID and some money. The group may decide to have a break in Monroe for coffee and a snack.
Cue sheet and map can be printed out using the free ridewithgps link below. And click on print cue sheet/map from browser.
It will be listed on Meetup.
Steady rain cancels the ride, and in which case the ride leader will not be appearing at the place of meeting.
