Friday Riders bike to Carkeek Park and Nordic Heritage Museum
Ride Contact
Event has already happened.
Bike from Gasworks Park to the Nordic Heritage Museum in Northwest Seattle and then, after a lunch/snack stop, to Carkeek Park.
Museum admission is $7.00 seniors and students, $8.00 other adults. There often is an opportunity to reserve free passes from the Seattle library (go to *Explore" then "books, movies & more", "museum pass"). We'll stay about an hour at the Museum. Time permitting we'll return to Gasworks from Carkeek via Golden Gardens.
It's a partly steady but not steep climb to the Museum and Carkeek and downhill on the return. Leader bikes very slowly uphill. The Nordic Heritage Museum expects to build and move to a new facility off the Burke Gilman Trail in Ballard in the next two years. Its present facility on NW 67th Street has changing special exhibits as well as permanent ones on Scandinavian culture and immigration to the Northwest. Rain or showers cancel the ride. Leader will ride to start and determine it weather conditions allow for biking.
