Snohomish-Lake Stevens-Three Lakes Rural Loop
Ride Contact
Event has already happened.
To find Pilchuck Park: From 2nd Ave in Snohomish, turn onto Cypress Ave, then take 1st left and descent into park.
The route: This is a lovely rural route. Many of the roads are quiet, but there are no shoulders. Riding singly file at all times is a must. We start in the old part of Snohomish along the Pilchuck River, pick up the Centennial Trail briefly, then climb through a newer neighborhood with big houses and views of the Cascade mountains, enjoy riding along Lake Stevens, and then dive into the rolling hills of the back country with lots of big, moss covered or evergreen trees and glimpses of the power of the Pilchuck River. After on short, steep climb the sky opens en we get to enjoy a beautiful view of the Snohomish Valley. Then before you know it, we will fly down into Snohomish again.
Cue-sheets are not provided; please print your copy.
Rest stop: MP 22.1 Storm Lake Grocery Store - Please, no restroom use without purchase; this is a store in the middle of nowhere, and we should support its existence!
Expectations (important, please read!): Arrive at least 20 minutes before the start of the ride to sign the waiver and be part of the safety briefing. S.M.A.R.T. riding is the standard and all riders are held accountable for doing their best to adhere to these; I want us to be awesome representatives of the bike community in Snohomish County and be safe! Front and rear lights are highly recommended at all times! Riders should be able to maintain the posted pace. We regroup occasionally. Riders have to be independent when they have a flat and/or mechanical. Please print a cue sheet in case you get separated from the group and bring a charged cellphone if possible. All riders are responsible to promote a great experience by having a positive attitude, having fenders when the roads are wet or rain is in the forecast, enjoying the beauty we are surrounded by and just by having fun! Steady rain or unsafe conditions cancels the ride. If the ride is canceled, it will be posted by 06:30 in the comment section. In that case the ride leader will not be at the start.
Pre-registration: You can pre-register for this ride online by clicking the Register button at the top of this page. A Cascade account is needed. Pre-registration is not required, but appreciated. If you pre-register, you do not need to sign-in at the ride start, just simply check yourself off as present.
