FRUMPS: Sumner to Buckley Ride

FRUMPS is "Friday Ride for Unemployed Merry Pedalers"

FRUMPS offers rides at both steady and moderate paces, and occasionally leisurely as well. You do not, however, need to be unemployed to join us, but just "unemployed" for that day. Like TREATS, we range all over the area and include a lunch stop, so come join us.

The themes for my FRUMPS ride will be socializing, having fun, riding our bikes, lunch and hopefully good weather!  :-)

I will be leading this week’s FRUMPS ride from Sumner to Buckley and back. The ride is 55 miles long with a lunch stop at mile 27 in Buckley at Wally’s Drive-In. Half of our ride will be on the Foothills Trail and half on the roads. On the first half of this ride we will be ascending all the way up to the Buckley plateau and on the way back we will be descending! :-) Check out the elevation profile on ridewithgps.

Note: The pace of this ride will be based on having no wind. If we have a headwind, the pace will be slower, if we have a tailwind, the pace may be faster.

Riders should bring a spare tube, tools and the know-how to fix a flat. Please download the GPS or print out a cue sheet for yourself. Please arrive at the start location by 9:15 am for the safety briefing so we can roll out promptly at 9:30 am. Restrooms are available in the Fred Meyer's store at the ride start.

The ride leader will not be at the ride start should inclement weather meet the definition for cancellation (showers, ice/snow, and steady rain). Ride cancellation will be announced in the Comments Section below at least two (2) hours prior to the ride start. Pre-registering for the ride: You may also register for this ride online, by clicking on the "Register" button under the ride title, checking the Waiver Signature box, and saving registration. Registering requires a Cascade account. If you can’t make the ride you do not need to unregister. By registering you won’t have to fill in the sign in sheet at the start of the ride.
