Enumclaw, Black Diamond and Green River Gorge

This weekend’s forecast calls for sunshine!  A great day to be outdoors and on your bike!  Join me on a beautiful scenic ride through the Enumclaw countryside with a stop at the Black Diamond Bakery and the scenic Green River Gorge. This ride is posted as moderate (14-16mph), I will keep it at a true moderate pace on the flats but slower on the hills.  If you are a moderate rider but a very slow hill climber, like me, this ride is for you.  Faster hill climbers are welcome and everyone will ride the hills at their own pace to the top where we will re-group and rest before moving on.  Please arrive early enough to ready your bike and sign the ride waiver.  We will leave Enumclaw and pass through the gorgeous countryside on our way to Black Diamond and the bakery.  After our rest stop we will ride to the scenic Green River Gorge.  Photo opp!  Then head back to Enumclaw with a quick stop at Nolte State Park for water and restroom break.

The pace of this ride will be based on having no wind. If we have a headwind, the pace will be slower, if we have a tailwind, the pace may be faster

Riders should bring a spare tube, tools and the know-how to fix a flat. Please arrive at the start location by 9:15 am for the safety briefing so we can roll out promptly at 9:30 am. Restrooms are available in the QFC store.

The ride leader will not be at the ride start should inclement weather meets the definition for cancellation (showers, ice/snow, steady rain). Ride cancellation will be announced in the Comments Section below at least two (2) hours prior to the ride start. Preregistration is not required to do the ride, but if you can, please try to preregister for this ride prior to the day of the ride. By pre-registering you won’t have to sign the ride waiver at the start because you signed it electronically.

Step #1 Sign into (or create) a Cascade account.
Step #2 Open this ride announcement and click on the "Register" button underneath the ride title at the top.
Step #3 On the Registration page, check the Waiver Signature release box (please read or review the Waiver & Release by clicking the link below the Waiver Signature box). Don't change the number in the "Spaces" box. 
Step #4 Fill in the Emergency phone number space with the number of your emergency contact person.
Step #5 Click on the "Save Registration" button. Now you are registered for the ride. 
If you can't make the ride you do not have to unregister.
