Seattle Urban Ride (Magnolia and Queen Anne)

Please join us on a ride around Seattle neighborhoods. Starting from Gas Works Park, we will ride to Magnolia and Queen Anne. We will be riding both multi-use trails and regular roads. We will have a short coffee break at Macrina Bakery at the top of Queen Anne Hill (YES!). This is a social ride with many photo op stops along the way, so bring your smile and a friend or two! 

This is a "stay together" ride, but we will climb hills at our own pace and regroup at the top of hills. All the huffing and puffing will be rewarded with great views of Seattle (Elliot Bay, Downtown Seattle, Mt. Rainier, and Lake Union). However, if you can't sustain the advertised pace (too fast or too slow) on flat, it will become self-paced. Please make sure to bring a cue sheet with you.

If you haven't ridden your bike for a while, please make sure to do the ABC check (http://www.cascade.org/abc-quick-check) before heading out because you are expected to handle minor mechanical issues, like fixing a flat, by yourself. Packing bus money/ORCA is a good idea in addition to carrying tubes/tools. Remember, this time of the year, it's prudent to wear in layers and include a rain jacket. Even though we have a planned bakery stop, please bring water and some snacks as well. 

We will meet on the sidewalk at east end of Gas Works Park parking lot. Bathroom is available in the park. Please come early enough to be ready to sign a waiver and listen to the safety speech and route briefing (15 minutes). 10am is a roll out time!

Morgan Michel, a Ride Leader candidate, will be leading/sweeping part of the ride for us!  

In the event of  a weather cancellation, a notice will be posted in the comments on this page at least two hours before the ride and the ride leaders will not be at the ride start location.
