Free Group Ride
FRIDAY RIDERS: Mill Creek Meander -- Late start
Event has already happened.
Remember taking your bike and exploring the wilder edges of your neighborhood? This ride is in that spirit. We'll take a ride on suburban streets to McCollum Park, then ride through deep woods on the paved North Creek Trail to Mill Creek, where we'll make our way to the wetlands boardwalk of North Creek Park. Then to another woods and another creek as we ride on paved trails through the Mill Creek Nature Preserve. Heading back into Mill Creek, we'll stop at Central Market for lunch or a snack, then take quiet streets and the Interurban Trail back to our starting point.
There is a stretch of gravel pathway on the way into North Creek Park. It's rideable with care, or can be walked. Mill Creek Nature Reserve has some short but steep hills, we will regroup as needed.
If it's raining, snowy, or icy that day, I'll post a cancellation notice here by 9:00 am. If it looks like intermittant rain showers, I'll be at the ride start and will consult the Dark Sky app to make my decision about riding or not. Feel free to call me at 425-238-4045 for updates that morning.
DIRECTIONS TO START: From I-5 just north of Lynnwood, take the 164th St. SW exit and turn onto 164th heading east towards Mill Creek. Turn left (north) at the 2nd traffic light after the freeway, at Meadow Road. Turn right at 146th St SW, and the park will be on your right just past 4th Ave. W.
