Lake Cavanaugh Gravel Bike Ride
Event has already happened.
Just four miles of the course are gravel and the rest is paved so a bike such as a hybrid or cycle cross bike with wider tires is needed for the soft surface portion. The gravel section is not technical but does have over a thousand feet of elevation gain so cyclists will be allowed to ride and walk at their own pace. The pace will be otherwise moderate and we will regather at the tops of hills and as needed throughout the course. There are no food or water options on the course until we reach Big Lake Store for our lunch break at mile 37 so make sure and bring two water bottles. This is a very scenic region of Skagit County featuring spectacular mountain views, riding around picturesque lakes, and even a little of the beautiful farmland in the flats so we'll make sure to stop from time to time and enjoy the surroundings.
