Cycling in Autumn For Espresso Series (CAFES). Another cycling season draws to a close. Now what? Coffee time! Bring your rain bike and join us for six rides in six weeks on the Eastside. We ride to a different coffee shop each time, alternating starts between Woodinville and South Bellevue. This series will help you qualify for your highly sought-after Coffeeneuring patch. Let's relax and get a cup of coffee after training hard all season.
Route http://ridewithgps.com/routes/6153957
50 miles, 3275 feet
Destination Walnut Street Coffee
410 Walnut St
Edmonds, WA 98020
(425) 774 5962
Pace will be a relaxed, social pace. We'll ride at the top of the pace on flats with a good hill climb or two. We'll wait at the top, though, so you can climb at your own pace.
Long fenders are absolutely required unless it is bone dry out, and zero percent chance of rain forecast. Stictly enforced for safety reasons.
Steady rain will cancel. If it's raining, we may ride anyway, but shorten the ride to a closer coffee shop. The ride leader will post an update if weather looks iffy. In the event that conditions are too bad to ride and ride director posts cancellation, ride leaders will not be at the ride start. Ride director (Alexa) will be available via phone/email: alexa.volwiler@gmail.com or 360-303-0526.
Route changes will be finalized by Wednesday morning before the ride, and cue sheets posted.
Regroups will be occasional, though not at every turn, so please bring a cue sheet or load the route on your GPS.
Mechanicals will not stop the group. Please be sure you have the equipment and knowledge to change flats, plus a cue sheet to get home, or a phone to call for assistance if needed.
Mentoring is available. Leave a comment below if you're interested, and do know the route of course.
RSVP: Please RSVP via Meetup.com (link below) so that we can plan for approrpriate numbers of ride leaders.
