Event has already happened.
Ride SLOW with Senior Ladies on Wheels to meet up with a fabulous FREE bike tour of public art starting in Ballard! We'll leave the Northwest African American Museum promptly at 11am, then roll downhill until we catch the Burke Gilman Trail to Ballard. We'll plan to arrive by 12:30 at the Salmon Bay Natural Area in Ballard, where we'll join a FREE tour of Public Art offered by Seattle's Office of Arts and Culture. We'll stop to view public artworks at the Hiram Chittendon Locks, Myrtle Edwards Park and more. Artists Marvin Oliver (A Salish Welcome) and Roger Fernandez (Snoqual/Moon the Transformer) will join us to talk about their work. The tour ends at the Olympic Sculpture Park. We'll return to NAAM by way of Elliott Bay, the International District and the I-90 trail. We'll stay together; the slowest rider sets the pace! Bring some snacks, as we won't have time to stop for lunch before we meet up with the tour. All riders of all ages, identities and abilities are welcome.
