Free Group Ride
Renton Alki Extravaganza
Event has already happened.
Alki Extravaganza is back for 2015!! The Alki Extravaganza Rides are multiple starting point and multiple pace rides that meet at various sites and ride to Alki. Come and join us on a relaxed morning group ride to Alki. We will be starting out at Burnett Linear Park, making a quick restroom stop at Seward Park before meeting the rest of our group at Gas Works Park for the scenic ride along the Seattle waterfront. When we arrive at Alki, riders will have time to get coffee, ice cream or a snack. After a quick group picture we will head back to our starting points. Come and meet some fellow cyclists with coffee and pastry thrown in.
Pace of this ride is determined on flat roads with no wind. If there is a headwind pace may be slower and if there is a tailwind pace may be faster. Pace on trails will not exceed posted speed limit. Due to our scheduled meeting with the other groups, the ride will start promptly. Please arrive in time to ready your bike and attend the safety briefing. Steady, Moderate and Brisk paces available. Pace Departure times are the following:
- Steady: 8:00AM Leaders Becky Moss & Abdoul Gaffour
- Moderate: 8:30 Leaders Jake Wright & Sue Krezlak
- Brisk: 8:30 Leader Jerry DiLeonardo
- Stops: Seward Park, Gas Works Park, Alki
- Rain Cancellation: Steady rain cancels, in the event of damp weather your use of fenders is appreciated especially by people behind you.
- Additonal: This ride is suitable for newer riders or riders wishing to try a faster pace, so if you are new or just looking to have some fun what are you waiting for?
