SLOW Ride to Jack Block Park
Ride Contact
Event has already happened.
Ride with Senior Ladies On Wheels (SLOW) for a social ride to Jack Block Park tucked behind the Port's industrial facilities near the Alki Trail. All riders of all ages and identities welcome, as long as you ride SLOW! At 15 miles round trip, this is a little longer than most SLOW Rides, so this probably shouldn't be your very first group ride. However, as always, the slowest rider sets the pace - don't worry, we won't hurry! We'll probably need about 4 hours for the round trip. There's no shame in getting off your bike awhile to climb a hill or just to take in the scenery. Starting at the Northwest African American Museum on the I-90 lid, we will follow the I-90 trail, the Hiawatha Greenway and a stretch of sidewalk along busy Dearborn to reach the Elliott Bay Trail, which connects with the Alki Trail. Depending on our mood and the weather, we may stop at Luna Park Cafe for lunch, or eat a sandwich in the park - bring a sandwich, or buy one at a stop along the way. Rain won't cancel - but may lead to a shorter ride. We always stay together and support each other.
