Free Group Ride
A Life of Climb
Event has already happened.
Meet at White River entrance to Mt. Rainier NP (fee area) to start riding at 9:30 am. You can ride 1,2, or 3 climbs with easy escapes from all uphill. If you feel done at anytime, just turn around and coast back to your car, ride at your own pace. Climb (1) is a 14.2 mile 3,000 foot elevation gain climb to Sunrise in Mt. Rainier NP. Returning to cars for snacks before climb (2). Climb (2) is from White River Entrance to Chinook Pass summit 8.3 miles, 2000 ft. elevation gain, then returning to cars. We will then move cars to the intersection for Hwy 410 and Crystal Mtn. Blvd. We will grab a snack and start climb (3) which is another 6.3 miles 1,700 ft. elevation gain to Crystal Mtn ski area. If you just want to park your car only once, then park it at Crystal Mtn. blvd. and ride to the start from there but allow plenty of time due to the main ride sign in and start time of 9:30am at White River Entrance. Slower climbers may want to climb only climbs 1 and 3 or turn around short of summits. Ride leader fulltime immediate presence on all climbs for assistance to all levels of climbers subject to number of ride leaders in attendance. Bright rear flashers highly recommended for climb 1 and 2. Bring your own lunch and snacks. Restrooms available at White River Entrance.
Note that the address for the start is shown as Enumclaw but this is way beyond the town of Enumclaw so allow plenty of time to get to the start.
