Free Group Ride
Sand Point to Seward Park for Cyclists New to Group Riding.
Event has already happened.
Join us for a joint CBC and Cycle University ride from Sand Point to Seward Park and back. This will be a steady paced (12-14 mph) ride appropriate for riders interested in learning the fun and dynamics of group riding. This is a classic “bread and butter” route everyone should know; from here you can launch to Mercer Island, South end of Lake Washington or anything on the East Side. Learn the safe way to navigate through the North end to South Lake Washington by bicycle.
The route is mostly flat, with one small hill as we climb out of Leshi towards the Arboretum. There will be frequent regroups and no one will be left behind. Rest stop at Seward Park (mile 11) has restrooms and water. Hang around after the ride for coffee at Gretchen's Place near the finish
Please arrive at least 20 minutes before the start for a safety briefing and route instructions. You should also be prepared to fix flat tires and/or minor mechanical issues if required.
Ride leader will not be at the ride start should conditions be as noted as “Weather Cancels” described above. If so, cancellation notice will be made in the comments section below at least two hours prior to the ride start.
Mentoring opportunities available. Please email ride leader 2 days in advance.
