This steady ride takes us from Magnuson Park to Mercer Island, where we loop the island with rolling hills and scenic water views before heading back to the start.

We will start in front of Cascade Bicycle Club. Bathrooms are available at the start. We will not make a grocery/food store stop so be sure to bring your food with you. We will make a bathroom stop at Lid Park on Mercer Island.

Riders should bring water, a spare tube, tools and the know-how to fix a flat

Steady rain cancels the ride. The ride leaders will not be at the ride start should inclement weather meet the definition for cancellation (steady rain). Ride cancellation will be announced at least two (2) hours prior to the ride start in the Comments section below and on Meetup. If you have questions about the weather, please call (425) 208-9408 and/or (818) 590-8167, preferably before you leave for the ride.

What Pace Means

Pace classification indicates the intended range of speeds on level ground without breaks. This means downhill sections of the ride may be faster, and uphill sections slower.

Note: For rides with a “hilly” terrain classification, consider choosing a pace one step down from your usual comfort level.

What Terrain Means

Terrain indicates the most common or average terrain type of the ride and should be considered relative to the length and overall difficulty of the ride. For example, a long-distance ride with a lot of elevation gain will be overall less challenging than a short ride with equal elevation gain. Consider the pace and frequency of regroup as well to understand how advanced a ride may be.

  • Mostly flat: Trails and/or mostly flat roads with a possible gentle uphill
  • Rolling: Climbs are short and easy, not too numerous
  • Some hills: A few short, steep hills, some moderate upgrades and/or longer gentle climbs
  • Hilly: Consistent or continuous climbing
  • Off-road: Significant unpaved sections
