She Bikes: SLOW Ride to Seattle CycloFemme
Ride Contact
Event has already happened.
Ride with Senior Ladies On Wheels to South Lake Union Park where we join women and families from Critical Lass, Seattle Kidical Mass, Seattle Neighborhood Greenways, Cascade Bicycle Club's She Bikes initiative and others in celebrating CycloFemme, a global women's cycling day held every year on Mothers Day. SLOW Rides follow low-traffic streets and trails, avoiding hills and traffic as much as we can. We take our time, enjoy the ride, and let the slowest rider set the pace! Don't worry, we won't hurry. We'll converge with other riders around 4 pm at South Lake Union Park for a picnic and celebration. This is the third anniversary of Seattle CycloFemme. From the CycloFemme website: "CycloFemme is a Global Women's Cycling Day created TO HONOR THE PAST and the emancipation of our grandmothers and great-grandmothers, for the freedom to choose and the chance to wear pants. TO CELEBRATE THE PRESENT and the riders who keep it rolling, bringing women's racing to the forefront, pushing the limits, breaking down barriers and sharing the love of the bike with everyone along the way. TO EMPOWER THE FUTURE of women in cycling and the opportunity for positive social change."S
