Free Group Ride
Seattle to Mukilteo
Event has already happened.
We meet, start, and end at the south end of the parking lot on the east side of Woodland Park, near the soccer fields and restrooms. The route is approximately 58 miles with 2800 feet of elevation and a decent amount of hills to climb. I plan on leading at a consistent moderate pace with occasional regroups as necessary. Riders going excessively slower or faster than the majority of the group will be self guided, please print a cue sheet from the route map provided if you think you will need it. Having a cell phone and money for bus fare or an Orca Card is a good idea for unplanned emergencies. There will be a short rest and lunch break in Mukilteo before heading back to Seattle with restroom and water filling stops in between as needed. Bring some cash or other method of payment for the lunch stop in Mukilteo. Be sure your bike is in good working order and bring what you need to be able to repair your own flats. I do not plan to stop for or assist with minor mechanical repairs.
If there are showers at the start of the ride and the weather report indicates it will rain intermittently, I plan to shorten the route to Edmonds and back. There will still be a short rest stop and snacking oppportunity at a cafe in Edmonds. The route and cue sheet remain the same except that mile 11 we will turn left onto 212th to get to Edmonds. For the return route we will pick up on 3rd Ave towards Woodway Park Rd, on the cue sheet between miles 45 and 46. If there is steady rain and weather reports indicate it will be constant, I will cancel the ride.
