The Squid Ride to Bremerton to ride with the "SquidMaster" Leo Stone. (Helmet squid and mounting materials provided)
We'll meet at 6:45 AM in the parking lot at the north end of Myrtle Edwards Park (follow the signs towards pier 91 and the Centennial Park off of Elliott Ave West, over the flyover)
Leave the lot by 7:00 AM sharp--we are stopping for coffee at Uptown Espresso on Alaskan Way near the Sculpture Park and will mount our helmet squid over coffee. Feel free to join us at Uptown Espresso if you are running late--we'll be there until 8:00ish when we head down to the ferry dock. We'll be making a quick stop near the Market for a group photo with the squid bike rack. The ferry leaves for Bremerton at 8:30. Bring some cash for coffee, ferry, and lunch in Bremerton.
We'll meet with Leo's ride on the other side. Leo is leading a slow ride (10 -14 mph) across the Warren Ave and Manette Bridges and to places in between. (Please note that this is a recovery ride from a recent heart attack so we'll play it by ear as far as distance and speed with Leo to determine what he is able to do.) It will be a fun and festive way to roll with Leo!
Bring rain gear if the weather seems threatening.
