Hidden Gems on the UW Campus
Event has already happened.
Come have fun, explore, and learn about some little known art installations of historic figures on UW campus. Frequent stops. Two highlights will be to identify great thinkers that grace the outside of the Suzzallo Library and a view of a 1945 shockingly left-wing mural by Pablo O'Higgins rescued from a worker's union hall. Bring binoculars or a camera. Bring a sack lunch, water, and beverage for lunch. On return to Magnuson Park we'll explore some of the UW waterfront on Union Bay.
Arrive 15 minutes early to sign in and be ready to ride at 10am. Starting location: Sand Point/Magnuson Park playground parking lot. Enter SandPoint at the traffic light under the building-archway. Go straight ahead east about 200 yards and park in the lot on the right near the portable toilet.
By bicycle exit at 65th street, turn east (downhill), cross Sand Point and turn left (north) on the frontage road, pass CBC office, turn right and go to the parking place described above.
