SLOW Ride: Free Day at Wing Luke Museum (Easy)
Ride Contact
Event has already happened.
This SLOW Ride takes us to the Wing Luke Museum of the Asian Pacific American Experience to learn about some of Seattle's little-known heroes. The current exhibit, "In Struggle: Asian American Acts of Resistance," hightlights stories of Asian Americans who have defied the "quiet" stereotypes and courageously stood up to injustice. Ongoing exhibits feature other aspects of the Northwest Asian Pacific American heritage. We start riding at the Northwest African American Museum by the I-90 trail, ride the trail to Jose Rizal Bridge, cross the bridge on the sidewalk, then follow King Street to the International District to visit Wing Luke Museum. Free on first Thursdays and 3rd Saturdays! We will then find a place for lunch in the International District. Pace: easy, 3.5 miles, gentle slopes, mostly on trails or sidewalks, stay together, no rain cancellation. The slowest rider sets the pace - don't worry, we won't hurry!
