On these warm summer days, few things are as satisfying as a scenic, rural bike ride and a big dish of gourmet ice cream! And guess what: The Snoqualmie Ice Cream Co. in Maltby is holding their 4th annual Ice Cream-O-Rama on Saturday, August 23rd (https://www.facebook.com/events/616415908457410/). There will be $1 ice cream, food from various vendors, plus music and a petting zoo (for those of you who want a trip back to childhood). We roll at 10:00 am from the Bear Creek P&R.  See map (http://ridewithgps.com/routes/5366203) for route, cue sheet and elevation profile.  Please arrive no later than 9:45 am to sign the ride waiver and hear the safety talk and route details.  Riders should print the cue sheet and have a spare tube, tools and the know-how to fix a flat. 

We will spend about 1 hour at the festival to take it all in. Expect to return to the start around 2:00 pm.  Restrooms are located in Perrigo Park, less than 2 miles into the ride.

The ride leader will not be at the ride start should weather meet the definition for cancellation (showers). Ride cancellation will be announced in the Comments Section at least two (2) hours prior to the ride start. What Terrain Means

Terrain indicates the most common or average terrain type of the ride and should be considered relative to the length and overall difficulty of the ride. For example, a long-distance ride with a lot of elevation gain will be overall less challenging than a short ride with equal elevation gain. Consider the pace and frequency of regroup as well to understand how advanced a ride may be.

  • Mostly flat: Trails and/or mostly flat roads with a possible gentle uphill
  • Rolling: Climbs are short and easy, not too numerous
  • Some hills: A few short, steep hills, some moderate upgrades and/or longer gentle climbs
  • Hilly: Consistent or continuous climbing
  • Off-road: Significant unpaved sections
