Eastside Urban Loop

Event has already happened.
Starting in Marymoor Park at the East end free parking lot, our route follows the relatively flat west side of Lake Sammamish, then gradually climbs Newport Way for about 3 miles before making a long, winding descent to Lake Washington Blvd. We’ll cross the Mercer Slough and head north to Bellevue where we’ll have a brief rest stop at Downtown Park. We’ll ride by the gated mansions of Medina, then through busy, downtown Kirkland before climbing Market Street hill, 100th Ave and Waynita Way. At the Wayne Golf Course be prepared to dismount and walk across their graveled parking lot. A short stretch along the Burke-Gilman Trail brings us to the second rest stop, Blythe Park in Bothell. The remainder of the ride is quite flat along Riverside Dr., Woodinville Dr. and Woodinville-Redmond Rd. For about 2 miles, we’ll be on the Sammamish River Trail, so please be very cautious and courteous, as there may be many non-cyclists using it. Remember: they have priority over cyclists! Finally we’ll ride south along Willows Rd, bypassing downtown Redmond before reaching the end of the loop at Marymoor Park.
Bring your food for the ride as we will not make a separate lunch stop. We will regroup at the top of climbs.
Riders should have a spare tube and patch kit, know how to fix a flat, and be able to make minor mechanical repairs/adjustments.
Please arrive 15 minutes before the start so you have time to get your bike ready, sign the waiver, and listen to the safety briefing.
