Would you like to lead your own Cascade Free Group Rides?   Become a Certified Cascade Ride Leader!

To become a ride leader you need to:

  • Be a Cascade Bicycle Club member in good standing
  • Have cycled a minimum of five daily rides (not major rides such as STP and Chilly Hilly)
  • Attend the Ride Leader Certification Class
  • Complete two co-led rides with a Cascade Free Group Rides mentor.

To register for this class: send an email with your NAME, CASCADE MEMBER NUMBER, and a CONTACT PHONE NUMBER (home, cell, or work) to rlcert@cascadebicycleclub.org.

What to Know Before You Go

  • Advance registration required. Cancel if unable to attend, to open space for others.
  • Must be present at safety briefing to participate.
  • Helmets required.
  • Riders under 18 years old require parental consent & approval from the Ride Leader.

Pace classification indicates the intended range of speeds on level ground without breaks. This means downhill sections of the ride may be faster, and uphill sections slower.

Note: For rides with a “hilly” terrain classification, consider choosing a pace one step down from your usual comfort level.
