Meet up to "Watch Them Run" - Steady, 12-14mph, Some Hills

This is a meet up to Jake Wright's "Watch Them Run" ride scheduled for Sunday, December 1st at 10:30am

From South Bellevue we'll enjoy a steady paced ride around Mercer Island and across I-90 to Leschi where we'll have coffee and cheer on runners in the Seattle Marathon. This ride will start at the South Bellevue Park & Ride, head to (and around) Mercer Island, across the I-90 bridge, and then on to Leschi for our date with coffee and runners. We'll return to our start via the north end of Mercer Island.  We'll be using a combination of roads and paved trails for this adventure. 

• Pace: Steady (12-14 mph on the flats presuming no head/tailwinds, slightly faster on the downhills and slower on the uphills)

• Distance: 22.5 miles

• Elevation: Ride with GPS claims this is about 1,800 feet

• Terrain: Some hills, but we'll take them at our own pace and regroup at the tops of the bigger ones.  On Mercer Island riders are welcome to go at their own pace because we'll thoroughly regroup at the West I-90 Lid Park before heading across the bridge together to Seattle.

• Stops & Notes:  

1. Regroup at West I-90 Lid Park,  a porta-potty is available in the parking lot, a restroom is available in Aubrey Davis Park which is slightly uphill (but we'll wait for you!)
2. Stop at the Leschi Starbucks, food/beverages and restroom, admire the marathoners
3. Please note that there are no restroom facilities available at the start of this ride.  Our first restroom opportunity will be at the West I-90 Lid Park
4. Please bring your blinky lights for safety and visibility
5. Riders should be able to sustain a steady pace, read a cue sheet, and have the tools and knowledge to change a flat tire

• Rain Cancellation: Steady rain cancels, as does frosty or icy roady conditions. It's more than likely going to be damp thus your use of fenders is appreciated!
