Let's meet in the parking lot of Gerk's Ski and Cycle, located at 1485 11th Ave NW, Issaquah, WA 98027. (Please park your car toward the back of the lot so that Gerk's customers can access the store easily.) Be there and ready to go at the time listed above. We will start with a required safety briefing, and roll out when that's done.
All riders must attend the safety briefing to participate.
This will be a beginner-friendly, slower-paced ride for those who are new to cycling and those who may be recovering from injuries. (The ride leader is recovering from a super-fun ankle fracture!) We will maintain a pace of 10-12 miles per hour on a fairly flat and paved trail. This ride will take us along the scenic Eastlake Sammamish Trail from Issaquah to Redmond, with an ample snack and bathroom stop (~20 minutes) at Whole Foods. The group will ride together at the published pace, but will regroup periodically if needed.
Public restrooms are not available at the start, but you may be able to pop into Gerk's or PCC to use theirs if needed. There are several porta-potty options along the Eastlake Sammamish trail, but our official stop will be at Whole Foods in Redmond.
Please ready your bike before this ride by checking your tire pressure, brakes, chain, and other mechanical items. Be sure to bring a spare tube and tools to fix a flat, just in case. Other things to bring: phone; ID; cash and/or credit card; ORCA card; sun screen, water and a small snack. Please have full fenders if the roads are wet, or you may be asked to ride at the rear of the group.
Note: If weather conditions meet the weather cancellation criterion listed above or if there are unforeseen hazardous riding conditions or other unexpected events, the Ride Leader will cancel the ride and all registered riders will be sent a notification email. If the ride is cancelled at least two hours before the start, Ride Leader(s) will not be at the start location. Please check before leaving for the ride.
We hope you can join us!
