Just keep riding (with cookies!)

It may be the rainy season, but let's keep riding anyway! Saturday afternoon is supposed to be less rainy than the morning, so we'll hope for the best!

Ride description: This will be a low-key, mostly flat ride on a mix of trails and streets with a few interesting sights along the way. We'll start from Gas Works Park and ride clockwise around Lake Union, over to the Ballard Locks, stop for coffee/tea/snacks in Ballard, and head back to the start. The route will be modified as needed for safety--depending on the amount of rain, we may stay on the Burke Gilman and ride north around U-district instead.

New riders who don't mind the possibility of rain (or commuters who would like to try group riding) are very welcome!

Rest stops: Restrooms are available at the start. We'll stop along the way for coffee/tea and homemade cookies at mile 12 in Ballard (at Caffe Umbria and Miro Tea), or somewhere in U-district if we end up staying on the Burke Gilman.

Equipment: Full fenders are highly recommended if it's wet, or you may be asked to ride at the rear of the group. Also bring a spare tube and tools to fix a flat if you have them.

Weather: If it's a little rainy, the ride goes on! However, we will have to cancel if there's especially heavy rain or other dangerous conditions. In that event, the ride leader will post a cancellation notice in this page's comments at least two hours before the start of the ride, and will not be at the start location.

Registration: You're encouraged to pre-register and sign the electronic waiver by clicking the red "Register Now" button above. There is no need to unregister if you decide not to ride.
