Overview
Nestled at the base of the majestic Three Sisters Mountains, Sisters is a charming town with wonderful opportunities for cycling. From the challenging McKenzie Pass to the Crooked River to Camp Sherman and more, the greater Sisters area has much to offer. Mountain views, river canyons, quiet roads through scenic farmland and sunny weather highlight this 4 day fixed -base tour in central Oregon. A short drive is required to one of the start points on this tour. Your price includes 5 night lodging at the Best Western Ponderosa Lodge in Sisters.
What to expect
SUPPORT
This tour provides the STANDARD Level of support as described on the Club Tours FAQ page. There will be 2 support vehicles on the road.
DIFFICULTY LEVEL
This tour has moderate terrain and mileage and the pace will be moderate. There will be time in the evenings to explore Sisters.
WEATHER
Central Oregon (high desert) has 300 days of sunshine each year. Temperatures should be cool in the mornings and the June daytime average is 74. Rain is unlikely but not impossible and temperatures may exceed the average so be prepared.
MEALS
Breakfast is provided at the Ponderosa Lodge, snacks and lunch are included each day. We will be using a caterer to supply a box lunch for each riding day. It will include a sandwich, salad and dessert and we will provide beverages, fruit, chips etc. Dinners will be your responsibility.

TRANSPORTATION
Go Green! we encourage carpooling. Sisters is 326 miles from Seattle. Estimated driving time is approximately 5 hours 18 minutes. Because of the distance and driving time, we have booked Monday night at the Ponderosa so that you will not have to drive after a day on the bike but can relax and leave on Tues. morning.
ROUTES
The mileage and elevation gain on all routes has been done on Ride with GPS. As such, you may find slightly different totals if you use a different program.
Please note: There were serious forest fires in central Oregon during the summer months of 2017. We will be doing a scout trip in April and may adjust/change the routes if needed. This is the 2nd year for this tour and we are still massaging some of the routes to meet our desired number of miles and enjoy the scenic points of view.

Day 1, Thursday, June 14, 7.30pm
Meet at the conference room at the Ponderosa for a welcome meeting with cue sheets and comments for the first day of riding.
Day 2, Friday, June 15
Sisters to McKenzie Pass, 40.7 miles, 2471' elevation
We will take on the ever challenging McKenzie Pass today with a short loop around Sisters to get warmed up for the 15 mile climb to the Summit with incredible views and lunch at the top and a fun run back down.
Day 3, Saturday, June 16

We will enjoy the rural farmland and views of the Three Sisters. It will feature a stop at one of the biggest Alpaca farms in the country.
Day 4, Sunday, June 17

We will be riding the Crooked River today.
Day 5, Monday, June 18
Route details TBD
We are working on a route to Smith Rock for today. There will be an optional pizza party night at the hotel conference room to celebrate our last night together.
