Seattle Bike Swap & E-Bike Demo

Event Description

The Seattle Bike Swap is the bike community at its best. Neighbors helping neighbors buy and sell a trove of bicycle treasures, new and old. What's for sale? Everything from new bikes and gear, to classics straight from personal collections. We have both established bike shops and independent sellers present. Find a great selection of bikes and bike-related goods of all types and sizes. It's a good idea to come with cash, but some sellers may take credit. This is a fun day for scouting out the perfect addition to your collection – or learning about options if you're new to bicycling.  This huge sale is one day only, so don't miss out! 

The E-Bike Demo returns for its second year! Test ride new e-bikes from multiple brands. Bring a helmet and we'll give you a short route to try out.

Ticket Sales

Online tickets are available for a limited time and at a discount. Purchase in advance by February 1 11:59 p.m.!

Once online sales end, tickets are available only at the door on the day of the event.

Tickets are non-refundable and non-transferable.

Parking

There is ample car parking within walking distance of the Exhibition Hall, as well as bike parking outside the Exhibition Hall. Remember to bring your bike lock! We also recommend attendees take public transportation. Seattle Center is a short walk from many bus lines.  More details can be found, here!

Consignment

If you have a working bike you want to sell, but don't want to rent a booth, we offer consignment. We will try to sell your bike for you for a fee ($10 plus 10% of the selling price). Bikes are priced to move. Proceeds benefit our Education programs! Consignment bikes are sold for cash only. 

Download and print the consignment form at home and help the line move just a little faster!

To sell your bike on consignment on the day of the event:

1. Bring your bike to the swap between 8:00 a.m. - 8:30 a.m. 
2. Intake for the last bikes wraps up and bikes are set up for a 9 a.m. open.
3. Complete a form and pay $10 per bike (includes one entry for the seller into the swap).
4. Return by 1 p.m. that same day, and we will give you your cut of the proceeds (or your bike, if it does not sell).  

Early Appraisal & Consignment Drop-Off

Drop off your bike early and receive an early appraisal! Beat the long lines at the Bike Swap consignment table and sleep in. We deliver your bike(s) to Bike Swap, however you must return to Bike Swap at 1 p.m. to pick up your bike if it doesn't sell or your proceeds. 

1. Sign up for a 30-minute consignment appraisal appointment at the Cascade office in Magnuson Park. Appointments available Mon-Fri, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. between January 16 - 31. If you have multiple bikes, only one appointment is necessary. Get a quick estimate for your bike at BicycleBlueBook.
2. Bring your bike to the Cascade office at Magnuson Park according to your appointment.
3. We'll conduct a preliminary inspection of your bike with you and let you know an approximate value you might expect to receive when sold.
4. If your bike needs additional work to be eligible for consignment, we'll let you know what should be addressed. *We are unable to accept bikes for consignment that are unsafe to ride.
5. If your bike is accepted during your appraisal appointment, you'll pay your $10 consignment fee per bike before leaving. A confirmation email of your consignment details will be sent to you after your appointment.
6. We will conduct a more thorough inspection of your bike after the appointment. Should we find issues during this inspection that makes your bike ineligible for consignment, we will reach out, refund your $10 fee and coordinate a time with you to retrieve your bike.
