Rides Registration FAQ

2021 Ride Season FAQ

I signed up as a member in order to get priority registration for a ride, but now the ride is not being offered. Can I have a refund on membership?

Thank you for your support of our organization. Membership dues are not refundable. Your membership dues make it possible to build community through our free group rides, educate youth and the public about bike safety tips, and advocate for safe streets. Your membership is valid for a year from your purchase date, so you can take advantage of member discounts throughout the year. Our member discounts include deals on gear, insurance, bikes, and more. Your membership is also your voice and grants you club voting rights. See our full list of member benefits.

COVID & Events FAQs

Updated 11/4/2021

See our updated cancellation policy and waivers.

In order to register for any event, you must agree to Cascade’s waiver and refund policies at the time of registration. Refunds of 100% are offered for in-person events up to 72 hours before the event. Virtual events will only be refunded should Cascade cancel the virtual event. Please review our refund policy for details.

I'm fully vaccinated. Do I need to wear a mask at events?

Yes, when indoors and in certain outdoor situations. Please mask up at rest stops, start lines, finish lines, and lost packet tables, or wherever folks are gathered and can't social distance.

Please see Washington state's guidelines for masking regardless of vaccination status when asked of a business:

"Counties and businesses have the right to set their own rules and regulations on face coverings to respond to the level of transmission in the community. If you walk into an establishment that requires masks, you will be asked to respect those rules. That's why we say, "Respect the rules of the room you're in," because it's an easy way to remember that there's no one size fits all solution for masking across the state."

Additionally, WSDOT ferries require masks. This applies to rides like the Kitsap Color Classic.

What are the registration limitations?

There are currently no restrictions from the state on rider limits, but events still have rider limits.

Will vaccination or COVID testing be required to participate in the event?

For many large events and indoor events, yes. See King County's Vaccine Verification page for more information and see the specific Cascade Bicycle Club event page you're interested in.

What do I need to bring to the event?

Bring proof of full vaccination or proof of results of a negative COVID-19 test, taken up to 72 hours before the event.

We recommend that you bring two masks that fit well. Wear one at the event where required and keep one as a backup. We will provide disposable masks for those who forget to bring their own, or to replace masks that don’t fit adequately. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommends that masks:

  • Completely cover the nose and mouth
  • Fit snugly against the sides of the face and not have any gaps
  • Be handled only by the ear loops, cords, or head straps (not by the surface of the mask)

Gloves are encouraged but not required.

You must bring your own water bottle.

We recommend you bring a flat tire repair kit. Cascade will try to assist with bicycle repair needs, but may not be able to assist in a timely manner.

Cascade will make a first aid kit available, and provide medical support.

Do I have to wear a mask while riding?

You are not required to wear a mask while riding, but should maintain a distance of at least 6 feet from other riders. You are required to wear a mask at rest stops, help desks, or using SAG vehicles.

What measures are you implementing to ensure the health and safety of your riders?

Hygiene stations and supplies will be made available at the event. Riders may pick up a mask at starting point help desks.

What are requirements for masking, hygiene, and social distancing?

Masks are required at event rest stops, start lines, finish lines, and lost packet pickup or where folks are gathered and cannot socially distance. WSDOT ferries require mask usage on rides like Kitsap Color Classic and Chilly Hilly.

General FAQ

Can I register my friends for an event?

No. You can not purchase registration for your friends, but you can purchase a gift registration for them! You can make accounts for minors, under your account by going to "My Account" -> "Profile" -> "Manage Household" and then create a new household member. Be sure to enter their ages accurately, so they can qualify for youth pricing. Children under the age of one are not recommended for our rides for safety reasons.

Is group registration allowed?

No. Group registration is not permitted. We do sell gift registrations for situations like this! Your friends or colleagues will need to register for events individually or by household if applicable.
