January 14th University District Food Bank food rescue by Bike!
Help ensure that the food bank has enough food to distribute to families and individuals in need by riding as a group out to the University District Trader Joe's and Roosevelt Safeway in order to rescue pre-made meals, produce, bread, and snacks that would otherwise be waisted by these grocery stores. We normally rescue 800 to 1200 pounds of fresh food every Friday, all by bike!
Bike trailers and cargo bikes are available for our volunteers at the food bank.
Meet us just inside of the large garage at the University District Food Bank at 9:45am on Fridays.
Sign up below to help us with the food rescue ride as either a food rescue rider or a ride leader.
If you already have not done so - Please fill out our easy to use volunteer sign-up form so that we have your email in order to send you your route details!
